What is Holiness?
Let’s start with what Holiness IS NOT.
Holiness is not what many professing christians say it is.The truth is, many christians do not know what holiness is. They profess to know, yes many sing the song, “Holiness unto the Lord is my watchword and song” and they fail to understand the root to this, they fail to understand the wisdom and understanding to it. They fail to understand the knowledge that comes with this. Now may I say, HOLINESS IS: THE CRUCIFIED LIFE OF JESUS CHRIST TO THE PERFECT WILL OF THE FATHER, LIVING INSIDE OF YOU. Holiness is the inward washing of your sinful life that cries out to daily REPENTANCE, SANCTIFICATION, OBEDIENCE & CONSECRATION. Holiness is when you are perfect as your Father in heaven is perfect. Holiness is ceasing from sin. Holiness is walking in the spirit ALWAYS. Holiness is fearing the Lord in all of the clean fear of the Lord. Holiness is to be without spot or blemish, without wrinkle, found at peace and blameless before the coming of the Son of Man. Holiness is to be feared. NOW, we have the professing christians who do not understand holiness, who will say “WELL NO ONE IS PERFECT AND NO ONE CAN BE PERFECT”. My rebuke in the fear of the Lord -to that is - only the perfect will be written in the lambs book of life. Only to the perfect will see God. Only the perfect will be with the Lord.
Beloved, first we must understand that when the word of the Lord said, be ye perfect, it is not making reference to this human flesh, for even the Lord Jesus said, “no flesh can glory before His presence” the flesh is corruptible, but understand ye, the “be ye perfect” that is required from you - is the spirit man living a born again and transformed life by and through the BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST, this enables you to have power over the choice of sin, having therefore power over the works of the flesh..YES THE FLESH THAT IS CORRUPTIBLE, WILL SOON BE SUBJECTED TO THE POWER OF THE BLOOD OF JESUS!!!!. BELOVED PLEASE TO UNDERSTAND, SIN IS A CHOICE. No one is forced to sin, Sin is a decision. Satan was not forced to sin, he made the choice. So you and I make choices to do right or wrong. We make choices to do righteous or unrighteous acts. No one forces us, therefore in salvation, WHEN EVIL PRESENTS ITSELF, it is a choice to listen or walk away. WE CAN WALK AWAY AND CEASE FROM LISTENING TO THE VOICE OF SIN, BY UNDERSTANDING THE POWER GOD HAS GIVEN US, THROUGH THE BLOOD OF JESUS.
Beloved, Holiness is not easily attained, however it is easy to do for a moment. "To have" versus "to do for moments" are two different thing. When you have a thing, it is yours; VERSUS when you do holiness for a moment, it may involve you pleasing the Lord in point ABC, but fail Him in point XYZ and the conclusion to the heart would be, you do not have holiness, you only profess to know and have it. It is not easily attained because Holiness takes surrendering holily to the holy will of BE YE HOLY. IT TAKES FULL AND COMPLETE SURRENDERING ALL OF YOU. YOUR HANDS, EARS, MOUTH, EVERY HAIR ON YOUR BODY MUST BE HOLY.
The ministry of holiness is one of the greatest understandings of the ministry of sacrifice, because the life of holiness beloved, (requires & will take by force!) LESS YOU & YOUR WILLS IN LIFE--- BUT NOW FOCUSES ON THE FATHER AND MORE SERVING OTHERS that you would think it be a profession. Jesus lived it well. The life of living holy is most distasteful to the flesh, the flesh is all about ME ME ME. Many christians are all about ME ME ME and now and then I'll help A BROTHER OUT. BUT MAY JESUS HELP US TO BE HOLY SERVANTS BEFORE HIM.
The emphasis of a christian life is a life of TOTAL separation from the world.
Jesus Christ says whoever wants to come after Him MUST DENY himself,take up his cross and then follow Jesus.(Matthew 16:24)
The bible says no man will see God without holiness.(Hebrews 12:14)
And again God says be holy,for Iam holy.(1 peter 1:16)
But what is holiness?
Holiness is Jesus Christ Himself fully manifesting in every area of your life.
Holiness is impossible by human will and power yet it is possible with God.
Only the Holy Spirit can help us to live a holy life.
It is impossible to live Holy without a close relationship with God.
(John 15:5-6)
You need to do your part by surrendering to God,reading His word,praying without ceasing and investing time in intimacy with God.
God is a rewarder of those who deligently seek Him so if you start to give God more of your time,you ll find yourself getting closer to Him.(Hebrews 11:6)
You need God.We all do. We will never be ready for His coming without His help.
Holiness goes beyond a list of dos and don'ts,its also about intimacy with God,PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP.
You need to seek God on your own because you can never have a complete list of things to do or not to do as a christian.
Each individual has their own personal things they need to get rid of that another person may not have.
There are things people can tell you,e.g you can be told to stop drinking,to stop watching worldly movies,to stop dressing worldly,to stop using makeup,to stop keeping bad friends, ALL THESE YOU NEED TO DO,but there's more.
Perfection will only happen if we keep a close relationship with God,because each time you find yourself in sin,God will correct you.
The Holy Spirit ll lead you into all truth.
Allow Him to search your life and listen to what He tells you.
Its possibile to have sin and yet not realise that you have that sin till God exposes it to you and tells you about your sin.
Personally,I have experienced it several times where I am completely unaware that I have a particular sin till God tells me and then I realise that its true.
We must be careful with self righteousness.
Its possible to see yourself as righteous and yet that's not how God sees you.
We must humble ourselves before God and ask for His judgement of our lives.
We must seek His rebuke and correction.
When praying,I like to ask God to correct me and expose every sin,and He does it.
This is something we must continually do while here on earth.
We must seek His correction,ask Him to show us our lives thru His eyes,how does He see us?
That's very important.
Jesus is our faithful friend,He isn't here to condemn us,but to help us overcome sin.
He is here to help.
Ask Him to help you pray to help you love Him more,to help you overcome addiction,to help you get closer to Him,to help you be consistent in your walk with Him.......ask Him for anything.He is here and is willing to help.
Holiness is to know God and let His life flow forth thru you in your conduct,speech,dressing,thoughts,and every area of your life.
Jesus loves you,seek His judgement while you can repent.
