The ministry of the word and the ministry of the spirit is very very very very very important. Let us see how important it is. The word and the spirit walk together. Understand that the ministry of the word and the spirit is likened to the ministry of the lamp and oil.
10 virgins had lamps, what were the lamps?
"Thy word is a lamp unto my feet. Psalms 119."
10 of them had a relationship with the word of God with them. 10 of them also had oil with them but only 5 of them had extra oil, what was the oil? The ministry of the spirit.
"The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me...Luke 4"
However, although 5 of the virgins who tho they had the ministry of the word and ministry of the spirit, only the other 5 had extra oil with them. This is wisdom. Afterall, wisdom is what separated the wise from the foolish. Wisdom is what will separate the bride from the body on that final wedding day with Christ.
"..for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and His wife hath made herself ready Rev 19"
The 5 wise virgins who had extra oil with them considered diligently the time and understood the importance of time in earth and eternity. The wise took time to prepare, the wise took time to fill and carry extra, the wise took time in intimacy, the wise took time in being holy, the wise took time in lifestyle, the wise took time in putting in more time, the wise took time in the fear of the Lord, the wise took time in not just being hearers only, but doers also, the wise took time.
